Zap2It's Brill Bundy breaks the news that Allison Scagliotti ("Warehouse 13") and David Gallagher (7th Heaven) have been cast as Twyla, a "Pixie-punk teen" and her brother Tanner, a "hot skater dude." The twins can communicate telepathically and take on various forms (water for him, animals for her) and will appear in episode five, “Idol”, in Smallville’s upcoming season.

Wait... hold the phone... Simon’s a Wonder Twin? How does the son of a preacher man become a super hero? Better question: Would Eric and Annie Camden approve? And, hang on, but didn’t David Gallagher also play the son of a preacher (wo)man on Bones? So, he goes from slightly angelic middle son in a stable, loving family (7th Heaven), to reformed televangelist son of a "I'm a woman now" dad (Bones), to running around turning himself into various forms of water (Smallville)? How’s THAT for range? Beat THAT, Jessica Biel!

In other Smallville news, Zap2It's Korbi shares a first pic of Brian Austin Green as bad-guy Metallo. On the upside: Buff shirtlessness! On the downside: That fine, fine chest is somewhat obscured by the kryptonite-powered mechanical heart that seems to be burrowing into Brian's body. We applaud the makeup and props folks, but we have to admit that we're slightly squicked out. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Finally, EW’s Michael Ausiello got exec producer Brian Peterson to confirm what appeared to be Clark and Lois having sex in the trailer shown at Comic-Con was the real deal. But, he adds, "It's more than just sex. They're making love. Clark would never [just have sex]."
