90210 recap: Of Heartbreaks and Hotels

This week's episode of 90210 was a bit of a letdown (although there were some sweet moments). Ethan can't get over himself, Rhonda is a nutcase, Annie has her weekly pity-party, Adrianna is still preggers and Silver and Dixon are in love.

Naomi likes what she sees

Naomi is living the high life up in her palatial hotel suite and has a new bartender/barista to keep her eyes busy. Great casting on the part of the CW folks: Liam is one HOT tamale. It helps that he also seems to be kind and attentive. When one of his fellow hotel workers gets bullied by a famous person, he steps in and gets the jerk escorted out of the hotel.

Silver has transformed into a giddy, giggly love-struck Disney character. She's listening to Whitney Houston without wanting to punch her in the throat; she's buying a rose for her man and she's planning a very special evening for the two to spend together.

Annie and Ethan are having some issues. She feels like she can't talk to him about her acting class or theater world and he won't shut up about living outside of his bubble. Ethan and Rhonda also can't stop talking about things profoundly changing them and Annie can't help but feel left out in the cold.

Navid tries to play it cool and completely turns into a d-bag in the hallway. He tells everyone Adrianna is a mess and probably doesn't know who her baby's daddy is. All of this was said within earshot of Adrianna. To make matters worse, the flower fairy (hee hee) delivered a pity flower to Adrianna from her teachers during class.

Rhonda finally comes clean with Ethan about how she has been lying about her current condition. Instead of him being upset about it, he continues with the friendship and of course, they have to be honest with each other from now on.

SIlver goes to Annie for some help planning something special for Dixon. Doesn't Silver know Annie isn't exactly the person she should go to for this help?

Annie goes to her acting class and proves once and for all that she is a terrible actress. Eventually, after much coaching and prodding, her teacher finally tells her to sit back down.

Annie and Ethan are joined for a cozy Valentine's lunch by Rhonda. LOL Rhonda, time to put on the internal censors when it comes to the attempted suicide stories. Awkward - but totally inspiring for Annie to steal for use at her acting class later that night.

Silver tries her best to get reservations at the hotel restaurant and is DENIED. She has no other choice but to ask Naomi for help. Naomi is great, she just picks up the phone and does her magic. She and Silver get to rekindle their friendship a bit and flirt with Liam the bartender. In an attempt to appear older, Silver does a pretty bad British(?) accent. Later in Naomi's hotel room, Silver opens up about her newfound appreciation for love and how wonderful it is. She also convinces Naomi to ask Liam out for Valentine's day.

In line at the chocolate store, Adrianna and Navid have an awkward encounter and he apologizes for being a jerk. They make up and actually handle things really well -- they are really cute together. Seriously, Adrianna owns this show.

At Annie's acting class, she launches into Rhonda's monologue about the dance and having the mean girls play a prank on her. And...she still can't act. For some reason, Ethan witnessed the entire thing and gets irrationally mad about it. Um, hello Ethan, it's an ACTING class. He needs to get over himself. He yells at Annie and ditches her to go to the dance by himself.

Poor Naomi, her prince charming doesn't show up to hang out with her. Probably should've confirmed beforehand.

Silver and Dixon have a very romantic evening even though a glimpse of the old cranky Silver makes an appearance when the cake she pre-ordered isn't available. She freaks out -- but Dixon calms her down with a sweet gift. Man, he is smooth! So smooth that Silver wants to let her freak flag fly and they get a room at the hotel.

Back at the dance, Rhonda has decided to brave it and give high school dances another go. Ethan ignores a phone call from Annie who is crying and apologetic. Oh SNAP! Instead, he and Rhonda take a spot on the dance floor. Unfortunately, this sends Rhonda some mixed signals and she goes in to give Ethan a kiss -- who doesn't move away even though she kind of did it in slow motion. After she kisses him and he kisses back he decides he still has a girlfriend. Oh Ethan, I don't believe you -- you totally want to ride the crazy train.

Adrianna falls asleep in a mound of chocolate and is woken by Navid, who launches into a very sweet spiel about how she is his mess. He wants to be with her -- and asks to be her Valentine. Our cold cold hearts melted during this scene, not gonna lie.

The next day at school, Dixon and Silver can't stop playing tonsil hockey and Silver shows Dixon the new tattoo of his name on her lower belly area. Something to make their love permanent. If there's anything we know about tattoos, it's that you should never get the name of your boyfriend of girlfriend near your privates.

When Naomi gets to class, she is met with a surprise guest. Turns out Liam is in high school, too. For some reason he's upset with Naomi for sending a bottle of champagne to his house and not knowing he was underage. His mom found out he was bartending and now he'll have to stop.

Unfortunately the show is on a break for a while, but it looks like it will be fast and furious when it returns. Actually, it looks exactly like The Fast and the Furious. Huh.

What did you think of last night's episode? Are you at all worried that Silver's new appreciation of love and the cheesiness it has to offer will backfire and push Dixon away from her? Let us know what you think in the comments!

I loved the last adrianna and navid scene! It was so cute!!!! They need more scenes

Last night's ep was another solid one for me.

-Crazy!Silver is pretty fun too watch but Dixon should run while he still can lol.

-Rhonda seems unhinged and Ethan should watch his back.

-Annie still sucks -- nice to see her put in her place

-Naomi looked gorgeous in this episode -- I think it was the lighting -- and was amazing to Silver and Adrianna.

-Liam is sexier than all the guys on the show combined. GG casting directors take note and save us from getting another Aaron:|

-Navid reminds me of a Seth Cohen wannabe -- he should stop now.

-Adrianna isn't my favourite character on this show so I'm glad her parts got scaled back.

-The March episode looked intense and it's about time this show started delivering on its promise to be sexier, contemporary etc. than the original.

This episode was pretty good but I think silver is going 2 far with the love thing though.
