Supernatural Podcast: "Bloody Mary"

Listen Now

This episode wasn't quite as creepy as "Phantom Traveler," but we still enjoyed it.

Sam and Dean battle Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary legend gets us reminiscing about our own preteen sleepover horror stories (thankfully, no eye-gouging -- just a frozen bra or two). We're intrigued by the Winchesters' secrets: Sam's we know, but Dean's is still a mystery. And Sam's many layers have us wondering what else lies beneath the surface...

Was very excited to see the return of both Smallville and Supernatural. Both shows tonight were awsome to some degree. I got an hour and a half of Smallville. But it cut into the time of Supernatural. I was expecting 1 full hour of both, and got an hour and a half of 1 and half an hour of the other. WHat's up with that, can we get a rerun of Supernatural?

Sorry, I didn't realize I was repeating it in the podcasts. I keep talking about it because Jackie had asked me about it, and she was actually looking forward to seeing what could possibly be so bad. You may be surprised by her reaction to Bugs...

I think it is fine for her to says he doesn't like bugs and route 666. I liked bugs, but the story was not up to as high of a standard as others and I have to say, Route 666 is the only episode I have only watched once. Even when I had my cousin watch it, I was reading and only looking up once in a while when she watched it. (I did get her hooked on Supernatural though... my husband too=p)

First of all, i love that you ladies are doing a podcast for Supernatural. Thanks.

Second of all, Sarah, as a Supernatural fan to a Supernatural fan, i appreciate how much you love the show and your efforts to getting this podcast but i gotta say, i don't appreciate the repetitive quotes of you in every podcast telling us and the other ladies how much you dislike BUGS and ROUTE 666. I understand that it's your humble opinion. What i don't understand is your need to say it over and over and over again to the point of overkill to the ladies and in each podcasts. We get it already. I don' think it's also fair that you say your opinion like it's a fact to the ladies. I personally loved both BUGS and Route 666 granted, i could have done without the underacted Casey screaming for Dean. it's still no excuse to throw your opinion on other people to the point of influence. Even if Mia and Jackie watch it, your debasing of the episodes will influence how they look at it without giving it a chance to see if they would have liked it like i did. Fact is every one has an episode they didn't like. Just don't say it like it represents the whole fandom.

Point of the matter, you don't like certain episodes, say it ones, and move on. It gets boring to me as a listener when for one minute throughtout the podcast, all i hear is your hate for the episodes.

I loved the podcast! And I love the attention you give to the brothers relationship, because while I love their individualities, they are both so much better together!

As for the baddy... I thought it was good, but far form one of the best=)
I do like the way they defeated her though. it's nice to see the boys think on their feet!

I love your SPN podcasts, they are really funny!! Can't wait until you do "route 66" because I love it : )!!!!

Just caught up with all of your Supernatural season 1 podcasts and I all have to say is AWESOME! I've watched the show since the beginning, but it has been my pleasure to initiate two friends into the fold over the years. I love listening to people's first impressions of the show and their predictions for what will happen to the Winchester brothers in future. Everyone picks up different details and I find that really enhances the show for me.

Thanks again and I look forward to your thoughts on "Skin". I think it is an interesting ep that serves as a stepping stone to one of the best Supernatural episodes ever, "Nightshifter"!

Thanks for the podcast, you had me laughing with you as always.

Yeah - Sam seeing Jessica at the end, in the white dress ... was eerie and sad. But am I the only person who just got caught up in the fact that the dress was WHITE? (ie Woman In White)

Anyway .. the "brotherly" moments are always good. Doesn't matter whether they are arguing, teasing/pranking or spilling some emotional guts.... doesn't even matter if it's a full conversation or just a word or two ... they make it believable.

Wasn't it Robert Singer who told Kripke right at the beginning that what was going to carry the series was actually the relationship between the brothers and not the scary stuff?

Another fun podcast Jackie, Mia and Sarah.

Although I have to admit that I kind of liked Charlie. I thought she kept it together pretty well considering all the creepy things she was seeing and I found her much less annoying than some of the other PIPs from the first season.

Also I always found it really interesting that Sam wants to keep secrets and his feelings from Dean this early in the show but later on rags Dean continually about trying to get him to open up.

I also think this might be the last time in at least two seasons where they let Dean get near a book. LOL!

A quick thank you for doing the SPN podcasts. I'm looking forward to them each week now. Hiatus is hell, I tell you.

I've gotten several people to watch the show and in my experience 'Bloody Mary' usually scares males more than females. This ep has a good chance to hook them on the series if they weren't already.

I still love Sam spotting Jessica at the end. The beauty in the scene balances the spookiness so well.

Ha! that was great. i have to say supernatural is always a given, in a show like that, there isn't much to critique. furthermore, many podcast, which often detract from my HSC study (equivalent to SAT in US but for NSW, Aust) is excused because of the interesting (albeit entertaining) and sophisticated words sometimes thrown into it!however the 'good guy' nathan was infact 'bad guy' nate in the first season, so he's a bit of both, and maybe the endeering hope that he stays good keeps us glued (however, season 5 had us worried)....
OTH's dad is a riddle rapt in a conundrum, with his layers and multi-personalities - good? evil? - which keeps things interesting. in cloing, bad boys are just oh so good!

Hey girls! Thanks for another great podcast! You guys are so great, you always have me cracking up and reminiscing about when I was watching these episodes for the first time.

Speaking of cracking up, that comment about Jared visiting the fountain of YOWZA was just PRICELSS! Seriously, just wait until you get to the latter half of the first season, there's a particular scene that made my heart stop from his gorgeousness. ;)

And thank you for bringing up the "Sam" vs. "Sammy" thing. It's one of my favorite aspects of the brother's relationship that Dean refuses to stop calling him Sammy. And I love how eventually, Sam just goes w/ it, and later on you can tell that he actually does like it (since only Dean is allowed to call him that, lol). It's just such a brother thing, much like the bitch/jerk thing.

Thanks again for doing these podcasts. I can't wait to hear what you guys think of Skin!
