One Tree Hill Podcast: "Suddenly Everything Has Changed"

Brooke finds out the truthWow. Just... wow. Lucas is out of the hospital recovering from his recent car accident, and now that he's conscious again, he has to deal with the two women in his life. Brooke's doing her best to be a good girlfriend, but little does she know that Lucas and Peyton are still hooking up behind her back. And when the truth does come out, it's in the worst possible way... leading all of us to rant about how horribly this situation was handled.

Meanwhile, Nathan's being pulled in two directions by Dan and Deb, whose impending divorce is getting ugly. Good thing he has his relationship with Haley to distract him -- and speaking of Hales, we get to hear her sing! Oh, and Karen and Keith reconcile, but they're in a different place than they were before her trip to Italy.

okay so i didn't respect you guys at first, i'm not gonna lie, but holy shit i love you guys now! everything you said during this podcast made me feel like someone finally shared my view! i am a brucas fan, and always will be, but what you said about her being too good for him is intirely correct! leyton doesn't deserve to be together either, but maybe more than Brucas since they are both assclowns. thank you so much! i love love love you guys! lucas is pretty much a dickwad, and like you guys said a total tool. Brooke needs someone who respects her completely, and will not take her for granted. Lucas will be that guy in season 2-3, but the tool bag lucas comes back in season four, and im not so sure you ladies will enjoy his hair! he is even caught wearing eyeliner in a couple of episodes. yuck!

First of all I just want to say that the three of you ladies are hilarious. I religiously listen to your podcasts and find myself looking like a retard when people watch me laughing out loud. Sadly I find myself looking hourly to see if you post anything new. Nerd I know ;)

Anyhow on to the love triangle...

I have to disagree with your guys thoughts on Lucas being more at fault than Peyton. Peyton in my eyes is the fish that needs to be fried. I can't believe that she hasn't kicked herself in the face after what she did to Brooke. Peyton told Lucas in her lame attempt for redemption that Brooke has been there for her through thick and thin...not to mention helped her through her moms death. What type of person is Peyton if she can sneak around behind her BEST friends back with the boyfriend she if falling for. I find it hard to believe that if Peyton truly cared for her and Brooke's friendship like she claims she would of NEVER even went as far as getting "carried away" with Lucas in the hotel room in the first place. She might as well use the excuse..."whoops I slipped and fell....again...and again...and again". lol.

Damn my dogs are whinning...I guess I'll have to finish my ramble later.

Love the podcast again...hopefully I didn't sound too bitter in my comment ;)

lol... My spelling is terrible in those last 2 post blame it on my 2 year old yelling mommy for about 2minutes straight about 25 time in a row for no apparent reason...lol

By the way sorry about my spelling I was typing so fast I didn't bother to preview. I just wanted to add that I find it out of character because from what I can tell of Brookes character the last thing she is is FAKE. An by them Randomly inserting the tape into knew eppys thats pretty much what they are trying to say. They are telling me ok Brooke has called P disloyal she has called her a backstabber and so much more yet they say oops well Brooke is all those things and more because she bahaved like that knowing she had done the same thing. Geez it boggles my mind how the writter spewed that out and expected so many to bye it. Whatever not me. anyways I'm done rambling now.lol

Again, commenting on the infamous tape...

As a Brooke fan, I will admit, that at the time that it was shot -- it wasn't completely out of character, or not impossible to believe she should do that. My problem with the story line is why it was even brought up after all this time. SOMEONE...ANYONE give me ONE VALID reason for why it even became a story line on the show because it has to be the most contrived stories on the show, and this show has a lot of contrivance.

lol... In case anyone missed it I said IMO... and just incase you dont get what that means it means In My Opinion. I was pointing out why IMO US Brooke Fans don't see how the tape hold any weight. We don't talk about it because like I said IMO it was RANDOM and Ount Of Character. It was just thrown out there so some fans could see them both equal on the who did who wrong list.IMO I know who Brooke was in season 1 I have watched from the 1st eppy and I own it.What I'm saying is that the way Brooke has handled and behaved the whole Lucas/ Peyton Betrayal it is out of character for them to show her be the same disgusting disloyal person Peyton was shown to be. IMO that my point of veiw. Agree or don't agree I really wont go further with it because it's pointless. We all have our opinions and I know mine isn't changing and I doupt I will change anyone elses and I really don't care too. ; )

I don't think the Brooke season 4 tape was out of character for who Brooke USED to be. We all saw that episode in season 4 after Brooke really grew as a person. This is after she stopped letting herself get carried away with parties and guys and popularity. Brooke hasn't always been the sweet and innocent girl that got hurt by her best friend and the first guy she actually trusted. I have never agreed with the "disgust" for Peyton nor am I disgusted by Brooke, so I don't see any validity to your point.

to: any brucas fans that agree with the anonymous commentor

Ok well I will start off like you and save the talk about the Bermuda triangle from hell last.

Dan/Deb.... I love to hate Dan. He is probably one of the greatest "villains" on TV cause you never agree with what he does but you still love him! I want this Deb back, I HATE what they did to her!

Karen/Keith: UGH it was heart breaking. Like we had all this hope when she left of Italy and then bam nothing. I agree where Karen is coming from, when it comes to your kids everything else falls aside. But I still love Keith, I know he didn't mean any harm and I feel bad for him. They still have a LONG journey ahead. And like someone else said one of my favorite scenes from this episode is when Karen and Lucas are talking and he asks her why she is pushing someone out of her life that really cares about her (Keith) and Karen responds why are you? (Brooke). I love that scene, and they have a scene similar to that in s3 where they are both talking about their hearts and Keith and Brooke, its great!

Naley... love them! How can you not? Nathan Scott is like the greatest boyfriend ever! He may be an idiot at times but he is simply amazing. And I LOVE Joy's voice, its so great.

Now the triangle. I can completely understand why you girls are saying how can you be a Brucas fan now. (and Jackie I understand why you asked how can you be a Leyton fan, but honestly thats just b/c to this day I don't understand how anyone can love LP, but thats just me.) But here is my progression during the series. The very beginning I was a full on Lucas fan, loved him! Then b/c he wanted P I became a LP fan and then when she rejected him and he went to B I became a BL fan, and then I realized I really liked them b/c they were cute and b/c of what they brought out in eachother. Then the cheating happened and I became completely a Brooke fan, 100%. I couldn't stand L or P at that point. I think they are both to blame but I have to admit for me what P did was kinda worse. Brooke says it in the next episode Lucas is a guy, we can expect that from them but P was her BESTFRIEND, a bff should NEVER betray you in that way. And after everything they'd been through, P's mom's death, her dad being away, B's absentee parents, you would think that P wouldn't be willing to give that up over a boy, but ohh well. So yeah I was a Brooke fan from the cheating until s2. But Lucas totally redeems himself in s2. S2 Lucas is my absolute favorite "version" of him, he was amazing! And not just b/c he wanted B but because he was so selfless and kind and compassionate, and helped everyone. Actually I loved s2 b/c of the Lucas and Nathan relationship, it was great! But yeah it was episode 2.09 when I became a major Brucas fan. And then it was episode 3.09 when I became the hardcore one that I am today, that is when I realized I would never be able to accept Lucas or Brooke with anyone else but each other and hopefully you will see why. So yeah you will see why half of the fans who watch this show love BL, its comes in s2 and s3. I can't WAIT til you podcast those seasons, especially s3 b/c no other season has even come close to being as great as that one was.

And don't even get me started on the STD (sex tape disaster) I can't wait to hear your rant Jackie, cause I have one of my own. It was one of the most ridiculous things this show has ever done, and I will leave it there.

Next episode, ohh Nikki. How I despise her and what she did to JP in s2. You girls are in for quite a surprise.

Oh I also agree with whoever said that whole post on switching N and L characters in s1. That was the whole point, they built up Nathan and destroyed Lucas. And Peyton points that out later in the season. But don't worry like I said before L redeems himself in s2. He becomes an even better person than what he started the show out as, he is just amazing. But at this point I pretty much hated both L and P, and just totally felt for Brooke. And someone said that BLP were all to blame I don't agree with that at all. B had no doing in any of this. But I will say the second time around BLP are all to blame. But I will explain that when we come to that.

I'm soo happy that you girls will continue to go through the entire show. I really can't wait. We still have some juicy stuff left in s1, so can't wait til the next podcast!!

Okay to the comment about the comment about the tape. Actually that behavior wasn't at all out of character for who Brooke was in (or like before) season 1. That's what she did she got drunk and had sex that's how we met her. She's blossomed into this beuatiful character with so much more depth than that now, but then it's totally believeable that she would have done something like that.

Thanks for all the comments! A few responses:

Kim: Yes, I think we'll keep going through all the seasons. I can't imagine stopping now -- we're having a lot of fun with these podcasts, and we hope you all enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoy making them!

John Mars: Hmmm, you're right about the podcasts becoming more explicit lately! I, too, blame Lucas for the recent profanity-laced outbursts.

Anneabell: Thanks for the post! I'm still not a Lucas fan at this point, but you've helped me understand why his fans cheer him on a little better. I agree that he improves in later seasons!

Anonymous 6/20 8:52 AM: I COMPLETELY agree with your theories on the tape. I won't say any more because Sarah and Mia don't know about it, but when we get to that episode, I'm going to rant like you've never heard me rant before!

Taffy: You can email us at sourcepodcast@gmail.com.

TO the comment about the tape everyone sees. No I don't think the Brooke fans forget about it but I could give a list explaining why It doesn't have the same effect on some that what Lucas and Peyton did does. I won't but I will say this, we saw a tape that IMO was made up just so us Brooke fans can see Brooke on the same level of disgust as Peyton (which didn't work by the way)and we would be ok with Leyton never going to happen. My problem with that is they should have let us see what took place from the start and keep it a secret from Peyton and I might have felt something about it. However it was so random and untrue to Brookes character after everything that they had just displayed in the eppy's before this. I'm not going to go any further with it because I don't want to get carried away but I just wanted to let it be known Us Brooke fans sure haven't forgotten it it's one of the biggest slaps in the face to her fan base.

Nikki next week! Horrible episode overall. You guys are going to hate it; I can't wait to hear your comments.

I don't really understand how people can be ship any relationship. I mean, yeah, they are or whatever, but I don't see the chemistry with either Leyton or Brucas. And I agree that Lucas was such a jerk through this whole triangle set-up and crumbling that I don't want anyone with him. Throughout pretty much the rest of the show, except for the end of Season 4 and Season 5, Lucas goes after Brooke like hardcore. Looking at this I get no sense of either relationship and looking overall I see Brucas.
I understand people getting passionate and upset about who they ship, but I honestly don't see it on this one.

Looking back though, I think how funny it is that Nathan petitioning for emancipation was treated so lightly since it was such a huge deal. I know the buildup to The Triangle was huge, but if I were writing it I would have given the emancipation storyline top billing and more meat.

Are you guys going to continue? I hope so, because Season 2 and really Season 3 put everything into perspective.

I like Lucas when it is not about his girl troubles. Like the way how he is to Nathan, Karen, Haley in season 5 Jamie he is pretty great but his girls leyton just stay together brooke is too good for Lucas. Since I am tried of Lucas girls.

I love your podcasts. I'm also a new viewer to one tree hill. I was wondering if I could email you guys. (psst-OTH Drinking game)

Regarding Lucas/Peyton/Brooke. I blame Peyton more because a 16 year old boy isn't usually worth ruining a friendship.

I wish there was another brother out there for Brooke.

LMAO this podcast made me laugh. Look, as an LPer this was the rare time I felt sorry for Brooke. I remember when I watched this eppy the first time. I felt sorry for everyone involved. Lucas and Peyton for what could have been. Brooke for finding out that her bf and bff had been seeing each other behind her back. I also think sometimes people forget they are only 16 and everyone has done something stupid at that age. Personally I feel everyone is to blame in this triangle but I was happy it was over at this point. Hence my shock at Brucas at a later stage. I agree with what one of you guys said about not understanding Brucas after all of this. I didnt and still dont understand why Brooke will get back with a boy that hurt her so much. I also dont understand why she started talking to Peyton either. The reality is she never got past this "cheating" but yet she hooked up with Lucas agian and started talking to Peyton but still stayed insecured.

Yes, Lucas is indeed a douchebag!

Are sixteen year olds in the OTH world devoid of common sense? NEVER settle for the bestfriend of the girl that you like!

I'm a huge Peyton fan, but Lucas is just not worth it!

(lately, the OTH recap podcasts arent "clean" anymore! blame Lucas!)
Just out of curiousity, is Mia half Filipino?

To start let me say that Lucas is my favorite character.

I think everyone can agree that at this point in the story Lucas is a douchebag.

If you don't think he is then the writers did not do their job.

In my opinion season 1 of One Tree Hill had some pretty well defined character arcs. The main theme of season one is the dichotomy between the two brothers.

At the beginning of season one you're supposed to like Lucas and for the most part you do. You aren't supposed to like Nathan and for the most part you don't. Over the course of the season we get to watch as Lucas becomes more like Nathan and Nathan becomes more like Lucas in certain respects.

Luke's character arc for season 1 is based on what happens when you get everything you want. How do you deal with that, and how does that change you as a person? What do you do when you wake up and no longer recognize the person looking back in the mirror?

I think that Luke's slow decline in season one was a great way to set up his character for season two and give him a place to go.

Season 2 was all about redemption for Luke. The writers turned him back into a likable character and kept him that way all the way through to season 4.

My whole point is that you're not supposed to like Lucas with anyone right now.

Lucas is also not the only one to behave badly on this show. Peyton, Nathan, Brooke and even Haley all pull some pretty crappy moves at some point during this show.

Fans of Brooke always seem to forget a certain video-tape that Peyton finds later on in Season 3 or 4....

I Love you guys' podcast. When i watched this episode i felt so dirty just to even watch Peyton and Lucas together and felt bad for Haley because she couldn't tell anyone.

I really felt for Brooke because she tried so hard to make Lucas comfortable in the sweetest ways and he just dumped her like a burnt peice of toast. I absolutely hated Peyton because if she really cared about Brooke she wouldn't have even started the whole sneaking around with Lucas and she would still have a best friend. Lucas was just an ass and even though he was in pain, he had no excuse to cheat on his girlfriend.

Hope you update soon!!!!

Great podcast. Very funny and witty.

I think at this point in time when I was watching the show, I wasn't a very big fan of Peyton or Lucas. What they both did to Brooke was just plain wrong. Blame for everything goes on both, but a little more on Lucas. And I agree, his assiness was at a maximum during this episode (and a little bit after).

However, Lucas really does redeem himself the following season. And during Season 2, you will see many reasons as to why there are those who want Brooke and Lucas together, starting with the 9th episode of Season 2.

Seeing more of Jake is most enjoyable. I truly wish he would return for the sixth season. The someday that he mentioned in Season 3 could be here. Ah...if only...

Poor Nathan, being caught in the middle between the shenanigans of Deb and Dan. He'll come up with a solution, though. And Haley..her and Nathan together truly makes sense. And the introduction of Joy's beautiful voice. That was a great song choice and really meshed well as the coda.

Now the next episode I didn't like very much because it's the introduction of the vixen Nikki. What a little you know what.

Waiting for the next podcast.

Why do I love Lucas
First Lucas tends to put people above him. See how he acts when it comes to his mom, Haley, Peyton and even Brooke. Lucas saves Peyton alot and is always loyal to his friends. I get that you guys feel sorry for Brooke and love NH and their cheesyness but seriously *gag* me. But why I love Lucas is because he is HUMAN, yeah he makes mistakes but trust me Lucas will take responsibility for his actions and so will Peyton. I really want to know why do you guys feel sorry for any of them in the triangle let alone Brooke? Who gets in a relationship with a guy whose obviously not over your best friend? And please feeling sorry for Lucas or Peyton would get me shot. That being said I still see the beauty in LP. If you watch throughout the series you might actually see why we LP fans see something in them, then again you might say the same for BL as well but seriously Lucas is 16 not 40 like Dan. You guys make it seem like Lucas killed someone. I guess you can say I relate to Lucas the most (Minus being in a love triangle) I just think you guys are falling for the bad boy gone good because of the good girl and not seeing the picture that is Lucas Scott. Remember this is a kid whose had his dad reject him since the day he was born. The girl he's wanted since he was in the 7th grade reject him also. Then for him to see how he got lost in all the hype. Just don't take it to likely. And I get you guys have seen S5 as well and think LP is evil too but honestly I love that these 2 are flawed characters. I'd hope you guys end up watching throughout the series and you guys wont think Brookes this perfect girlfriend or that Haley is this perfect person either. I actually right now feel sorry for LP because of the mistakes they made and will for ever will live that down. LOL any ways great podcast so peace out

LMAO!!!!! Wow, the Lucas hate is in full effect haha. Ok at this point of the show I didn't like Lucas either, but my hate was mostly towards Peyton. Honestly because I couldn't understand the way she betrayed her best friend. Especially, when Brooke went over her house everyday when her mother died. C’mon they were only kids and Brooke was such a loyal friend to her. I just don't get how you can hurt someone so bad when they were there for you in your darkest hours.

Right now we can all say that this isn't the Lucas Scott we like. I can guarantee that he'll become a better person in season 2 and 3. And I can guarantee you'll understand why there's Brucas Fans. One thing that I did like about this painfully frustrating episode was the Lucas/Karen talk about Keith and Brooke. I liked when Lucas said I can’t understand how you can turn your back on someone that cares for you so much (something to that effect) and Karen responds how can you? For me it just seemed like that meant there was much more to come with Brooke & Lucas and Karen & Keith. It just gave me a feeling of both couples weren’t over.

I can pretty much say that this whole episode pissed me off, especially because I was a brucaser from their first scene together. I do agree with you guys on just about everything except for the sole hate on Lucas because Please! Please! Remember it takes two. Well I can’t say I was still a hardcore brucas shipper in the next episode but I was definitely a Brooke Fan (TEAM BROOKE). I can’t wait for your next podcast and thank you guys for really being honest about the BLP triangle because some people love to make excuses for their favorite ship. I just love when mature people see what’s really going on within the show and can speak on it truthfully.

I forgot to ask, how come you guys were doing 2 podcasts a week when Jackie was in Italy but when she got back you went back to doing podcasts once a week?

I enjoyed this podcast! I'm so glad that you guys touched on the other story lines as well!!
Haley singing at the end was great. I love Joy's voice! The Naley scenes only get better this season.
As far as the triangle is concerned, I think you guys hit the nail on the head. Personally I am a Leyton fan but I really didn't enjoy how stupid Lucas was in Season 1. I think we do have to take into consideration that he's a kid that comes from the wrong side of the river and has been introduced to the dark side of popularity.
Lucas is genuinely a good guy that takes several wrong turns. You'll get to see Peyton point that out in a few episodes.

I can't wait to hear the rest of season 1.

By the way, any news on season 6? I know they started filming this week.

So happy for another podcast!

In the next podcast I was wondering if the three of you could share what you DO know about upcoming episodes. When I listen to these podcasts I always wonder what you actually do know about when things happen in the future or how they happen. We know that you watched season 5 and may know a little about everything in between, but how much?

As for this episode I agree that Lucas is quite an ass, but being that I ship Leyton I enjoy seeing him do reckless things because he cares about her so much. I understand the hate of Leyton in the first season, but my love for them comes from how they never really get over what they could of had. In the thrid season I could see that there was something there that never went away.

hey everyone,
GR8 podcast. LOL. loved ur passion, and i haven't seen that ep in a while but you made me feel ur hate. i actually have conversted my sister into lovin the show, we're two eps behind, and i will slowly ween her into ur podcast aswell! ok comments:
- brooke didn't deserve that pain, but i do think peyton is more to blame, coz while u r dating peyton, lucas cant possibly feel the same connection to her as peyton does, and that should b stronger that u likin some guy. also it shows she has no loyalty to the one person who was there for her when her mother passed away, AND a few eps back when her dad was possibly dead in the hurricane thingo.
- also..TOTALLY lovin NALEY, it possible to say, after the culmination if this drama, that i watch the show for them, and nate is v. lucky to have her when bad things are going down with the rents.
- and i felt it was a smige unfair for so much blame on keither but karen, i can see where she's comin from ofcourse, BUT, he paid for the bills, he cares so much, loves karen, stayed away at her request...it just sux that there doesn't seem to be too much hope for a happy ending at this point.
thx so much for reader, u r the BEST ppl for this podcasting, i love u all, and special mention to Sarah for using big words, makes this feel like its not a total brain-rotting, guilty-please activity!!!
xoxo shailee - syd, Aust

Awesome podcast girls J you all seriously rock the socks lol

I remember when I first ever watched this episode I freaking hate the way both lucas and peyton behaved (actually still do lol) as a brucas fan at the point I was pretty much the same as you girls and thought she deserved way better than LucASS but ya know what there was that part of me that still wanted them together haha yes hopeless I know but then season 2 came and OMG once you watch that your gonna see why we all love brucas ,.He seriously redeems himself majorly in that season I honestly cant wait to see your opinions on some of my fave brucas scenes in season 2 and 3 J

I love what you said on the podcast see this is one of the reason I hate lp whenever they get together they hurt someone and that someone is brooke every single time,Brooke has been there for peyton since they were little but at the end of the day its brooke who always makes those sacrifices she does but peyton shes take take take it seriously is ridiculous.

I mean the first time I ever watch that end lp scene I was happy peyton actually finally showed she does have a conscious and said just how much a friend brooke has been to her but of course her word never stays true as a few episodes shes still after him and of course then we have the hell which was season 4 too

For me brucas is the better couple and have such a deeper connection , Brooke in my opinion is very selfless she always has been and always puts him before her self and to be honest I think the bl relationship the second time around season 2/3 was a amazing one. As ive said many times before when I write acomment lol if lp end up together what does that show the audience? That cheating and hurting others is the way to go as you still get whatever you want and it doesn’t ,matter who gets along the way or then there is brucas who deserve that happy ending, their fans deserve it and brooke as I say has always shown herself to be way more of a better person and she deserves her happy endingJ anything else would be so dumb it would lol

Im gonna stop before I end up rambling lol but anyways loved the podcast you all have such a way with words lol im looking forward to the next one J

Btw also I love the way you talk about lucas haha I mean I love the character but even I know he can be a idiot and have his “Assness “ moments sometimes its very true lol

I do feel sorry for Nathan. He's trapped between his mum and dad. Deb is like a saint compared to Dan. Well anyone is a saint compared to Dan. lol Haley's song was awesome I love it and the whole Naley scene. I'm glad that Keith paid the hospital bills because Karen said herself she couldn't pay the bills. For me the blame goes to Lucas. This is all of his fault. I just feel sorry for Brooke. great podcast hope another one comes this week. btw did I mention that Lucas was an idiot this episode.

Watch season 2 & 3 (and hopefully podcast while doing it!) and then you'll probably understand us Brucas fans a whole lot more. They're so amazing and cute together and they're chemistry is insane! Anyways, I'm not one of those hardcore Brucas fans and I actually don't think they'll end up together sadly, but to me they just have something that Leyton doesn't. Besides Lucas is a lot less "brooding" when he's with her, gotta love that! I just like the sides of which the two of them bring out in each other. Lucas and Peyton always ends up cheating and yeah, being not very nice people. So to me they bring out each others worst sides, and they're just too alike in interests, their tendency of being totally brooding and tortured. I always think opposites make the better couple. But whatever, I'm totally babbling. I just prefer Brucas over Leyton that's all..
-Camilla, the Danish Brucas fan :)

First of all, LMAO about Lucas' hair! I personally think he looks good in season 3 and 5!

I get how at this point, you think Leyton "deserve" each other because they are both immoral heartless people. I think at this point, most of us Brucas fans became just BROOKE fans. But just wait until seasons 2 and 3 and you will see why half the fanbase is still pulling for Brucas to be together.

And Brooke & Lucas' chemistry is phenomenal in seasons 2 and 3. So if you don't see it now, you will most likely see it then. (Even my Leyton friends can't deny it).

I was SO angry with Lucas and Peyton in this episode! Brooke was being the sweetest thing ever, and Lucas just breaks up with her! And then, he moves on to Peyton, who decides to ignore her heartbroken best friend. But then again, she doesn't even deserve to be in the company of Brooke. She is responsible for her pain.

Disgusting behavior. The main reason for my hate of the coupling of Lucas and Peyton. This is why I will never accept them. (Along with how they later get together in season 4 at the expense of Brooke, again, but it's only Peyton's doing that time).

I agree with everything else you said about Naley and Jake and Dan, etc. I just felt the need to comment about the triangle.

*pouts* I am not hiding! I already submitted a post but apparently it was deemed unacceptable or was lost in transmission.

I do feel special to be brought up though=p

So why do i like Lucas?
1. He's like a naive little puppy. He sees a big world he's not used to and dives in, forgetting his life jacket on the way.
2. He has a big heart and helps people out.
3. He makes mistakes... and it makes him more human. I love Nathan but the way he is constantly redeemed even for stupid things bugs me.
4. I usually end up liking the characters everyone else either despises or overlooks. Not sure why... maybe so I can have them all to myself?
5. Well there are more reasons, but I can't discuss them yet! Most of the reason i love Lucas so much comes later. I agree, right now he's being an idiot... but I still love him=p

And thanks for all the Naley stuff this time around! They really are the heart of the show!

Ha Ha HA! His Assness...lol... that's funny.Ok first I want to say how happy I am that u guys took the time to talk about the other storylines in one tree hill. Especially Dan I know he is an tool and all but I love him. Now I just wanted to say I'm a Brucas Fan and it was hard for me to maintain my love for them during this. I just loved how they showed a diffrent side to Brooke with Lucas. I know they showed Lucas having fun and being more then just this brooding teenager with Brooke. However it was Brooke and the person I started to see her to be when she hooked up with Lucas that started my love for Brucas, later on I came to love the Lucas who apprecieated who Brooke was.He respected it, was amazed by her because of who he saw she was. See Lucas doesn't really even know Brooke and he really wasnt taking the time to know her because he was still infatuated with Peyton. When the cheating stuff happened it made me sick because even though Lucas doesnt know the amazing person that Brooke is Peyton does and it just pisses me off that Lucas gets most of the blame. Yeah he is her Boyfreind, but he has known her how long? where as Peyton her best freind knows who Brooke is and does this to her. I's just disgusting. An trust me Lucas does not get a pass from me but I can understand his part in this betrayal better then Peytons. I however some how still maintained an open mind to Brucas and I'm glad I did because they turn out to be everything I saw they could be and more.I get why someone who didn't take to Brucas like me might wonder why the hell I still love them but like i said it wasn't easy. Now how anyone could support Leyton after the way they even start out with the backstabbing and lies I will never know. An then again I could careless why anyone likes Leyton or hates them my intrest lie with Brucas. Anyways great podcast I cant wait for the next one.

You guys seriously rock!! I love that you keep it real. I can't stand it when fans empathize when the characters were dead ass wrong.
-naley:i love that u spent more time on them. they really are the foundation of the show and the only pure example of true love.
-dan: i hate his guts but he as been present in nate's life, its just that his presence often times is painful
-deb, she seems sane now....she hasnt been there for i get why nathan is conflicted and you'll see that in episodes to come
-keith/karen: i feel bad for them in this situation but for now, they shouldnt be together. they are at two differnt levels'
-lucas, he is an ass. i love luke i really do, but i hated him in these few episodes. he was a jerk to make brooke believe that she wasn't good enough for him. but having said that. i dont blame him as much. he wanted everything with peyton and she turned him down. then she comes crawling back and he wants that,we knew who he wanted from the get go. however i dont ship lp because they dont fit( its a selfish relationship), u shouldn't love someone who could go as ur twin.
petyon-how could she feel bad? she should get hit by a bus. seriously, what kind of best friend does that, this is hs and u 4get ur bff for a guy u met in less than a year! i know dont how anyone can feel bad for her. she said no to luke, kinda like in season 4.5, she turned him down and then she comes running. peyton needs to go back into her angst filled room and conjure up a plan to save herself instead of relying on lucas.
brooke- i love her for trying and really caring for luke despite his coldness. the reason why i love BL is because lucas redeems himself in S2. hes patient, kind and caring and he really tries to get to know her as her friend. he completly falls for her in S2 and they date in S3. it gave me hope for them because he has never done that with any one else.

Finally! I've been waiting for the podcast,
and as usual I loved it.

I couldn't agree more on your dislike on Lucas' action and personality itself, I do detest how when everyone is warning him
that what he is doing is def. wrong he always seems to have an excuse and bash the other person with something completely different,
to be he def holds the blame. LMAO I can imagine Saras faces when she mocks him. Anyways, I do know most Brucas fan love their ship cause of the great chemistry both have
with eachother and they are fun when they're together although in this season I really dont approve of Lucas cheating and lying, its just wrong.

Anyways, of course I loved Naley this episode.
Its just impossible not to love them, Haley/Joy has an amazing voice.

Oh and warning, the new lady coming next episode is bad news for everyone!!!

Can't wait till u guys update with the new one,
please dont take long lol.

Guys seriously... ITS NOT JUST LUCAS"S FAULT.. lord, Peyton is SUPPOSED to be Brookes BEST FRIEND, yet she decides to make out with lucas behinde her back, and i ABSOLUTLEY hate the fact that peyton is now like no i cant do this do her, after she already did it...! its not like she stopped them before they started making out iin the library no she waits tell after her bffs heart is broken to stop messing around with lucas... it is lucas's fault too but its also peytons u cannot say its lucas's fault more

and that time where lucas and peyton were in the motel LUCAS stopped it before it actually went ty them sleepping together, if it were peyton she wouldve went all the way with him

ur rite on one part though LUCAS is not worth losing your best friend over..

Great podcast. You will find many more episodes where you just want to yell and scream and throw things so don't worry. Next week will be interesting with the love triangle but I'm gonna save my comments for them till later.

Naley is obviously so perfect right not and I love how you girls actually talked about them for longer than a minute. Isn't Nathan just perfect right now? And totally agree with you about Haley having lots of self control. Dan is and will always be an ass and it's really sad what Nathan is driven to do. I love my parents even more after watching these episodes.

Now for the triangle. I totally agree with Lucas. You obviously love Lucas the first few episodes but that slowly ends and you end up despising him. I totally agree he is such an ass and I don't understand Brucas fans. I am a total Brooke fan and the only way I would ever support Brooke and Lucas together is if it made Brooke happy. But I don't even understand how it would. I wouldn't even wish Lucas upon Peyton but they are pretty much made for each other. The evolution of the triangle confuses me and if I was Brooke I wouldn't talk to Peyton or Lucas at all for like ever. Brooke cements herself as a good person at heart next episode I think.

Anyway. Hopefully the Lucas fan will come out of hiding and tell us all what is so great about him. Maybe he's only so great in the next couple of seasons. Until next podcast.

When Mia called Lucas an ass I damn near fell out of my chair laughing! It was hilarious. Yeah I'm not a Lucas or Peyton fan. I agree Brooke is way too good for Lucas although I am way more of a Brucaser than a Leytoner. If I remember correctly I actually did throw my remote when I watched this episode and it broke so I don't really have good memories of this epi. You guys crack me up.

great podcast guys!
~agree with you about lucas deserving to be alone...but i think if he just gets w/ peyton, we won't have problems of cheating & lying. they should get together & move far away from tree hill, so we can focus on the more interesting characters & their storylines
~naley = big reason to watch the show...see their ups and downs and cuteness (james & joy have amazing chemistry!)
~keith = feel so sorry for him, he was just so excited/nervous to see karen and it all went wrong (poor guy!)
~dan & deb = they need to get their divorce already! deb deserves better!
~nathan = needs to divorce his parents!
~ girl at the bar = SHOCKING :-0

Hey guys, awesome podcast, i've been listening to you 3 all along, but this is my 1st comment so i wanna address a few things:
- agreed: frustrations of leyton...i never liked lucas and his cheating ways, and frankly peyton is to blame for sure, she is brooke's BEST FRIEND!
- i love brooke & feel for her, no one deserves to be treated like that, especially from her best friend (friends are forever, boys are mostly temporary)- it is ridiculous that she had to find out through peyton's webcam
- lucas & peyton should just get together, since if lucas is with anyone else he will cheat...the only person he doesnt cheat on is peyton
- nathan & haley = absolutely adorable. sarah, ur so right about haley having lots of self control...nathan always seems to redeem himself after screwing up...so we always forge him...unlike lucas who never even tries to redeem himself
LASTLY, i am really excited for you guys to podcast the next episode...ur gonna be SO surprised about who the bar girl is!

loved your podcast, yal are hilarious as always lol. yeah, i definitely don't like season 1 lucas. but i think if you watched the other seasons, you would agree that he redeems himself.

i don't know why, but no matter what she does, i can never bring myself to hate peyton. yeah, she's made mistakes, lots of mistakes but i think yal will like peyton again by the end of the season lol. i just can't be a peyton or brooke hater.

thanks for a great podcast :)

Great podcast, i totally agree about the level of frustration that this episode brings!
And just to let you know I think the reasons to love brucas come way later than this. I'm a brucas fan (but i don't think they will ever end up together) but i didn't like them together at this point; she was too good for him and he was acting like a fool! During later seasons they just have amazing chemistry!

Basically I agree with you about this episode. Unfortunately, I can't help you out by giving you a reason to love Lucas, because I don't! However, I do think that Peyton should be given a little more credit, because she did break things off with Lucas BEFORE Brooke found out. Also, I think you will be happy to see that Lucas and Peyton do not get back together (not even close) for a VERY long time. Again, I'm a big big big Jake and Peyton fan. I hope there will be more discussion of these two (especially Jake) in later podcasts.
Anyway, I love your podcast; great job!
