Supernatural News: Sera Gamble Spills
While we're waiting for our Demonic Deal to get approval from the higher-ups (or maybe the lower-downs), we’ve been catching up on our Supernatural news. We just stumbled across a fabulous interview with one of our favorite Supernatural writers, Sera Gamble. Everything she says just makes us all the more excited for season three.
Why? There's going to be a Bobby story! He may have lost the Big Bad Bracket, but Bobby rules our hearts, so we're thrilled we're going to learn a bit more about Bobby's backstory. "I for one really want to know where Bobby came from, why he's a hunter," Sera tells Eclipse magazine. "I mean, does the guy have a family? How'd he meet John? Was he born wearing a trucker cap?"
All valid questions, and all things we can't wait to see answered.
More dish: Sera says we're finally, finally going to get some insight into Dean's necklace -- "We've been talking about Dean's amulet. As of now we haven't decided exactly when, but we intend to use it in a future episode."
Finally, she reassures fans (again, some more) about Ruby and Bela: "Sam and Dean are the two main characters of the show," Gamble she says. "That's how we approach every single episode."
But Sera says she gets the fan angst: "I have to say, I know fans are really worried about the new characters, and I do get where they're coming from," she says. "I've watched shows and been way annoyed by new characters. But I think people are going to dig Ruby and Bela more than they expect to. At least I hope so, because we've been having lots of fun writing them…I'm hoping that our audience will appreciate the new elements Bela and Ruby bring into the boys' stories. It's good stuff. I believe they represent a deepening and an expansion of the world we're already in. They support the story we're telling this season, rather than distracting from it. Even though they're hot chicks."
OK, Sera, we're staying cautiously optimistic about the new characters here at CW Source Central. But don't mess it up, ok?
There's even more juicy details and things to chew over in the article. Take a look!
Are you as excited as we are by the prospect of a Bobby backstory episode? Do you have theories about Dean's amulet? Do you refuse to be reassured about Bela and Ruby? Are you counting the days until the Season 2 DVD comes out, and the new season begins? Let us know in the comments!

still not convinced about Ruby and Bella. I have yet to see a show in which a female character doesn't bother me and ruin the show, but maybe that's just me. but yay for Bobby and Dean's amulet!!!! now if only Sam would get a haircut, we'd be all set.

I am all for learning about Bobby's backstory! Bobby Singer is completely badass and I love him! LOL!
As for the new girls, I am still apprehensive just b/c I don't know what to expect but I have ultimate faith in Kripke and Gamble and everyone else that is involved w/ making SPN so to have them say we will like the characters eases my mind a whole lot!
Also I am a total spoiler junkie, so I know of every spoiler that is out for the new season so far, and I have to say that it is going to be AMAZING! So for all of you who are even the least bit worried about Season 3 don't be, it is seriously going to be the best season yet! It's going to kick ass!!

I also agree with mousita, the more I'm told I'll love Rubella in advance the more ticked off I'm getting. Let's wait and see. I don't like the idea of them at all still. The focus had better not shift from the Winchester brothers or the team won't be able to deal with the outcry!
Bobby is in every way awesome and I'd love more backstory on him - but what if those two interlopers get in on every arc? :>(
I loved Ellen and when is she coming back? I'd be way more excited about that than Boffy and Faythe.
Don't let us down Kripke, the Winchester Brothers Rule!

I would love some backstory on Bobby, as well as Dean's necklace.
Am I more reassured about Ruby and Bela? Not really, no. I pretty much agree with Mousitsa. I'm still in my wait-and-see mode, but I do have my reservations, about the whole thing.
I am of course, hoping things turn out for the best.

just a quick p.s. .... I've been spoiled with sides & info all the way up to episode #5 and honestly, each episode is shaping up to be better than the one before it! This may just be the best season of Supernatural yet, and I'm very excited for it.
Now get out there and "tell a friend to tell a friend" to watch! We're in the time slot of hell and our beloved SN needs all the support we can muster up.

**Possible spoilery comments alert**
With regards to this article I guess I better start out with a "better late than never you guys!" considering we first read it over at Eclipse more than 15 days ago. Sheesh, more demonic activity preventing you from being up to date? Maybe you should check page one of the Season Three Spoiler Info thread over on the CW board... we post it ALL there almost immediately!! :))) And Yeah finally... a story on Bobby and the story of the amulet!!!
Now I most certainly respect Ms. Gamble... after all she's given us some of my favorite episodes (Salvation, Crossroad Blues, AHBL/I to name a few). But the fans have indeed spoken out based on the preliminary info on Ruby & Bela. I only hope Ms. Gamble and Mr. Kripke have really taken the concerns to heart. Unfortunately I can't just simply 'trust' because the track record for female characters hasn't been too great. And the one that was promising to the story (Ellen) has now been bumped in favor of the younger, sexier bunch. I'm a total spoiler fanatic and I hate to say it but what I have seen of Ruby so far doesn't give me much hope, whereas Bela is a bit more positive currently.
I am holding by breath because good things were spouted about Jo too in an effort to 'convince' us in advance. So please, don't try to convince me... I have a brain and I use it often... let me develop my own opinion. Thus, I remain in the Wait-and-See-Lounge as far as "Rubela" is concerned. The minute these girls get anywhere near the backseat of the Impala or start taking the focus away from the Winchesters, the revolution will start again!
We'll do our job and tell a friend to tell a friend to watch... now let's hope they do their job to make sure they don't mess up the show with these new additions.

Sera Gamble is my hero.
If she says we'll like the new characters I'm going to believe her.
